For men: Do you ever wonder why you feel such a great calling after watching a war or adventure movie? I just watched The Return of the King AND Braveheart in one day and let me tell you I feel like I could go out and lead an army to war right now! These movies are so great because they capture a man’s soul to fight for the ones they love and do the things that others are scared to do. They also capture the life of every man because we all have an underdog story in our lives, whether it is our redemption story back to Christ or how we’ve battled the odds to do something great that others said we couldn’t. It satisfies our soul, or at least mine, to know that God loves the underdog story (he loves every story by the way) because it stirs something in my soul that gives me great hope for my future and the adventure I am on. God wants us to have adventure and wants us to live on fire, so to speak, because when we are living with adventure in our soul we are putting our trust in Him–not having worry in our heart about the future or what it might hold– and braving the unknown with a fierce mentality that we will conquer it all with Him on our side. I can’t even write everything I feel right now because I can’t put it all into words. All I can say is that it is a wonderful thing to finally realize that, “if God is for us, who can be against us?”, and to have the full knowledge that God will be right by my side through every battle, heartbreak, disappointment, love, and adventure! I am so excited for the future and what it holds and I pray that whoever you are, wherever you might be, that you, too, can feel the awesome power of Jesus on your side and know the joy of complete trust that everything will be alright.
